Human Resources Intern – Unpaid
Part-time/Temporary
Position Summary
Our human resources internship provides an opportunity for a qualified student to engage in professional, structured and supervised projects and assignments. This position will work on projects assisting the Human Resources team and learn about day to day functions of the department. The student will have opportunities to learn about employment law, organizational structure, and developing standard procedures. The student will be able to combine their education with practical HR experience in core HR areas such as compensation, talent and diversity.
Essential Functions:
• Provide administrative support for human resources department
• Review resumes and help maintain general HR email
• Collect and complies data and tracks employee data
• I-9 processing, data control entry, and HR audits & completing specific EEOC reports
Potential assignments could include, but not limited to:
• Labor Relations
• Policy Review and Formulating Policies
• Recruiting, Screening, Scheduling & Staffing
• Employee Benefits – Payroll
• Organizational Development
Assignments will also include projects requiring research and trend analysis, benchmarking, assisting in the development of communication packages, conducting research on emerging HR issues, or project management, problem analysis and solution implementation related to HR initiatives.
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources; completed sophomore year of college with minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Skills & Abilities:
• Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.)
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality on all HR aspects
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interest and passion for the Human Resources field; willingness to learn
• The ability to collaborate with team members
