Language for Scholars One Day Workshop Volunteer

Work with students building their oral communication skills during a three hour workshop.  This is one of Columbia Picture’s “Be Amazing! Stand Up and Volunteer National Day of Service” Projects.

Volunteers will interact and work with students from an After Schools Matters Program in the Austin Community.   On this day students will be highly engaged and participating in Leap’s Language for Scholars Program.  During this program, students will be introduced to concepts and skills that will help them succeed in school, careers and in life.  Volunteers will work directly with the Leap staff in a fun and engaging way during various activities to help students apply what they are learning.

Summer Internship: Human Resources

CATALYST CHARTER SCHOOLS

Where: Chicago’s Westside/Austin neighborhood. 5608 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, IL 60644

Who We Are: The Catalyst Schools www.catalystschools.org believe that every child possesses inherent value and potential, regardless of background, educational level, or life circumstances.

Our college-preparatory schools partner with urban communities to offer K–8 students welcoming educational settings that nurture academic, social, and emotional growth. As students move on to high school, they remain vital members of the Catalyst community through our graduate support programs. We help all students and graduates discover a fruitful path to high school, to college, and to a citizenship that embraces peace, justice, and respect. We actively engage students’ families and neighborhoods, striving to create strong connections between students’ education and the communities they live in. Guided by this mission, we empower our students to become agents of change.

Why We Need You: We are growing rapidly and have a number of projects in our Human Resources department that require the talent and skills of a graduate student who is proficient in technology, has strong business acumen, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a commitment to the value of quality education and a strong desire to work independently to contribute to something bigger than themselves.

Why You Need Us: You will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive training on and maintain the ADP HRIS system including the development of a robust employee self-service portal as a crucial employee benefits and policies communication tool.
