Tribune Media Services is looking for a Web Design Intern who wants to gain experience in the marketing and new product operations function for a global content agency. In this role, you’ll work directly with the Director of Marketing, Product Manager, and Senior Web Strategist to support a variety of design function areas for marketing and new product prototypes. Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the following:

Help populate new online catalog and perform a series of publishing/design tasks devoted to the new site.
Code HTML marketing emails and landing pages.
Work within email marketing system to set up email campaigns and email reports.
Assist with listing building and responsible for distribution of HTML communiqués.
Work with Sr. Web Marketing Strategist to implement SEO strategies.
Assist in the application of the new logo treatment to a variety of online and print materials.
Assist with implementation of online consumer ads for eBooks/eMags.
Creation of mockups and product requirement samples (e.g. the headers on the hosted site, or other page mockups).
Assist in the planning and production of the ebook publishing program: compiling and formatting the Word docs and PDF copies for reviewers, making changes to the HTML in the EPUB file.

PAID Biodiversity/Restoration Summer Internship at LUREC

Loyola’s Center for Urban Environmental Research and Policy (CUERP) is offering two (2) full-time Biodiversity/Restoration internship positions this summer at the Loyola Retreat and Ecology Campus (LUREC) in Woodstock, IL. Interns will be working under the supervision of Dr. Roberta Lammers-Campbell and Fr. Stephen Mitten, S.J. and will be engaged in biodiversity and/or restoration research and projects. 


Student interns will receive $1,000 per month and room and board at LUREC for three months (May 11 - August 15).
Applicants must be registered Loyola students. Interns will also be required to register for one of either the Oak Woodland Restoration/Field Ornithology courses taught at LUREC this summer (May 13 - May 31).

Duties include some or all of the following:

Participating in all aspects of the scientific method including designing studies, collecting data and samples, data entry in Microsoft Excel, analyzing data, and preparing oral/poster presentations. 
Field work will include restoration, invasive species control, planting of native vegetation, plant and animal surveys, and ecological monitoring. Other duties may include data analysis, database management, collection of plant and soil samples, GIS research, and compiling and assembling reports.

Basic Qualifications:
A current registered Loyola biology (with ecology emphasis) or environmental science student with Junior standing and who has completed a year of biology and ecology. 
Experience collecting biological field data. Must be able to take detailed and accurate field notes, and record data according to procedures. 
Demonstrate a commitment to wildlife conservation and restoration. 
Ability to participate in strenuous work, involving working and hiking in rain, heat, and in clouds of mosquitoes. Be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Work is physically strenuous and the majority of it will be outdoors. 
Capacity to work collaboratively and independently with little supervision. Self-motivated. 
Possess strong interpersonal, computer, organizational and communication skills (written and spoken). 
If you don’t enjoy the outdoors, hiking and working at unusual hours, or cannot tolerate poor environmental conditions, this job is not for you.

Experience conducting and analyzing field-based ecological research.

Summer Nonproliferation Internships

The Summer Undergraduate Internship in Nonproliferation Studies at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) is a paid internship. Interns will be compensated at approximately the same rate as graduate research assistants and will work with CNS staff members on substantive issues for one of the following Nonproliferation Programs:

CNS’s research interests also cover Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Terrorism, regional nonproliferation issues including the Middle East and South Asia, and export controls.

Requirements

Applicants for these internships should be students completing at least their sophomore year at an undergraduate institution and be eligible to work in the United States. Applicants should have a strong interest in nonproliferation issues. Knowledge of international security topics and command of a foreign language are desirable. Students majoring in the physical or biological sciences are also encouraged to apply.

Duties

In addition to assigned research work, interns may develop their own research projects under the guidance of CNS staff. As part of the training aspects of the internship program, interns attend seminars and lectures held at CNS throughout the summer. The duration of the internship should be two to four months between early June and late August.

Interns will be responsible for finding housing with assistance from the Internship Coordinator (see below).

We are a small team of passionate and talented professionals specializing in strategy and branding. Since 2003, our company provides creative strategy and strategic design solutions for organizations as diverse as manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food, government and social services.
